eDelivery Building Block

Description

eDelivery provides technical specifications based on open standards, installable software and ancillary services to allow public-sector or private-sector projects to create a network of nodes (B2G, G2G or B2B) for secure digital data exchange. By building with eDelivery, public and private organisations from different sectors can easily create a safe and interoperable channel to transfer documents and data among each other over a public or private network. The building block is standards first and therefore implementable by different vendors. eDelivery is based on the AS4 messaging protocol, open and free for all, developed by the OASIS standards development organisation and now an ISO standard: ISO 15000-1:2021 (ebMS), ISO 15000-2:2021 (AS4) and ETSI EN 319 522-4-1 (AS4 binding for Electronic Registered Delivery Services). To ease its adoption in Europe, eDelivery uses the AS4 implementation guidelines defined by the Member States in the e-SENS Large Scale Pilot. To use eDelivery, organisations must select a vendor of eDelivery software, or use it as a Service.
